Middle East
Gaza Strip

Reuters; Al-Ahram. Israeli strikes and gunfire killed at least six Palestinians on Sunday alone, including four people near Al-Yeman Al-Saeed Hospital in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza, and two others in Khan Younis and Gaza City. Reuters. Since the October 2025 ceasefire took effect, Israeli forces have killed nearly 1,000 Palestinians and injured more than 3,100 others. Al-Ahram.
On Sunday, Hamas announced it had delivered a unified Palestinian response to the 15-point roadmap for implementing Phase 2 of President Trump's Gaza peace plan. The response, reached after extensive consultations among Palestinian factions and mediators (Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye) in Cairo, agreed to 14 of the 15 items. The remaining disagreement concerns Hamas's disarmament: Hamas insists it will not lay down its weapons before a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and the launch of a political track toward a Palestinian state. Israel insists Hamas must disarm and cede power in Gaza. Al-Ahram; Reuters.
Israel has continued to expand its military footprint inside Gaza beyond the agreed "Yellow Line," with its forces now occupying an estimated 60–64 per cent of the strip, compared with the agreed 53 per cent. The UN Secretary-General warned on 10 June that Gaza still faces "profound uncertainty and immense human suffering," with the Israeli government declaring its intent to control 70 per cent of the strip. OCHA oPt. A humanitarian aid convoy entered Gaza through the Rafah crossing on 14 June, according to Egyptian state media.
West Bank
Settler violence and Israeli military operations continued across the West Bank on 14 June. The Israeli military also issued evacuation warnings to 29 towns and villages in the districts of Nabatieh and Sidon in southern Lebanon.
The strikes on Beirut occurred at a sensitive diplomatic moment, with the United States and Iran on the verge of signing a peace deal. Iran's top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said the Dahiyeh attack showed the US "either lacks the will to fulfil its commitments or the ability to do so." President Trump called on "all sides to stand down" and urged Israel not to strike Lebanon while a deal with Iran was "so close." Al Jazeera. Thousands of people have been displaced in Lebanon in recent days as violence has escalated.

The HRMMU attributed the high toll primarily to Russia's use of missiles, aerial bombs, and glide bombs against urban areas far from the frontline. On 14 May, a missile struck an apartment building in Kyiv, killing 24 civilians. On 5 May, aerial bombs on an industrial area in Zaporizhzhia killed 12 civilians and injured 42. Sudan
Rapid Support Forces (RSF) drones struck El Obeid, the capital of North Kordofan state, for a fifth consecutive day on 14 June, destroying fuel stations and expanding attacks to White Nile state. The UN reported that drone strikes in Kordofan killed at least six civilians and injured others, even as humanitarian convoys reached thousands of cut-off people in the region. UN News. The IFRC reported that drone strikes around Tiné attributed to the RSF had intensified since early May 2026, affecting Red Crescent operations.
The Sudan conflict, now in its fourth year since fighting erupted in April 2023, has killed an estimated 270,000–400,000 civilians according to various sources, and displaced approximately 14 million people, making it the world's largest humanitarian crisis by number of people requiring assistance. Myanmar
Myanmar's civil conflict continues with shifting dynamics on the ground. Reports from 14 June indicate that resistance forces are facing increasing pressure in multiple areas as the junta's military, bolstered by forced conscription under a universal two-year service law, advances into strategic territories. Rebels face shortages of weapons and equipment, making the conflict increasingly difficult for anti-junta forces in some areas. Wars in the World. However, the broader conflict remains fragmented, with resistance forces retaining control in significant parts of Sagaing, Shan, and border regions.
Myanmar detained American businessman and author Adam Castillo, a former president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Myanmar, on 12 June as he returned to the country from a book tour. Castillo authored a memoir about the 2021 military coup. A Yangon court remanded him in custody for two weeks on a breach of trust charge brought by the current director of a business organisation he once headed. The US State Department had not responded to requests for comment as of 14 June. Mizzima (Myanmar opposition).
Myanmar's junta-run elections earlier in 2026, which excluded Aung San Suu Kyi's party and returned a walkover win for pro-military parliamentarians, resulted in coup leader Min Aung Hlaing being voted in as civilian president. Democracy watchdogs have dismissed the transition as a civilian rebranding of military rule. GeoBit's security assessment ranks Myanmar as the seventh-highest-threat country globally, with Yangon, Shan State, and Sagaing Region carrying the highest composite risk scores.
